cates of indebtedness, to wit, Series F, Series G, Series H,
Series I, Series J, Series K and Series L of said certificates of
indebtedness, in the aggregate amount of Three hundred and
thirty-seven thousand dollars ($337, 000. 00); now, therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of Public Works of Maryland be,
and the same is hereby authorized and directed to redeem at
par, with accrued interest, Series F, Series G, Series H,
Series I, Series J, Series K and Series L of the certificates
of indebtedness of the "Susquehanna Bridge Loan of 1922" of
the aggregate par value of Three hundred and thirty-seven
thousand dollars ($337, 000. 00), immediately upon the passage
of this Act.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and being
passed upon a yea, and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all
the members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its

CHAPTER 40.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners of
Wicomico County to appropriate the sum of Six Thousand
Dollars ($6, 000. 00) annually for the Wicomico County Vol-
unteer Firemen's Association and to levy taxes to pay said
appropriation.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Wicomico
County be and they are hereby authorized and directed to ap-
propriate and levy annually the sum, of Six Thousand Dol-
lars ($6, 000. 00) for the use of the Wicomico County Volun-
teer Firemen's Association. Said sum shall be paid annually
to the Treasurer of said Association and shall be disbursed by
him only by order of the Board of Directors of said Associa-
tion to the member companies or departments of said Associa-
