924 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 327

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 31 of Article 19 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1888 Edition), title "St. Mary's
County, " sub-title "County Commissioners, " as said section
was amended by Chapter 513 of 1922, be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

31. They shall authorize and direct at their first meeting
after their election and qualification and not later than the
year eighteen hundred and ninety-one and thereafter, to elect
by a majority vote a clerk to said board who shall serve as such
for a term of two years and until his successor is elected and
qualified. The clerk shall receive an annual salary of one
thousand ($1, 000) dollars.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

Approved April 11, 1929.

CHAPTER 327.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
368, 370, 373 and 375 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, Edition of 1924, title "Crimes and Punish-
ments, " sub-title "Mineral Waters, Porter and Other Bev-
erages, " to revise the provisions relating to the definition of
returnable containers to include therein bags, boxes, baskets
or other containers used by laundries and dry cleaning and
dyeing establishments.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Sections 368, 370, 373 and 375 of Article
27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, Edition of 1924, title
"Crimes and Punishments, " sub-title "Mineral Waters, Porter
and Other Beverages, " be, and the same are hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments, so as to read as follows:

368. The said several Clerks mentioned in Section 366
shall record in some book of record in their respective custody,
all such descriptions in the preceding section authorized to be
filed with them, together with the certificates of the publishers
