910 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 316

Peace at Large, for said two election districts and there shall
be none other appointed; said Justice so appointed shall re-
ceive an annual salary of Six Hundred Dollars, payable
monthly, by the County Commissioners for Allegany County,
which said salary shall be in lieu of criminal fees and costs,
all of which said criminal fees and costs, including costs in
motor vehicle cases, shall be remitted to the Treasurer of
Allegany County each month; the civil jurisdiction of said
Justice shall be the same as provided in the Code of Mary-
land, Article 52, Sections 5 to 11, except for that, in all
civil actions competent to be brought before said Justice, the
civil jurisdiction shall not exceed Two Hundred Dollars.

179CCC. There shall be appointed by the Governor as
aforesaid, one Justice of the Peace for Election District
Number 8, which said Justice shall be a Justice of the Peace
at Large and none other shall be appointed; said Justice so
appointed shall receive an annual salary of Six Hundred
Dollars, payable monthly, by the County Commissioners for
Allegany County, which said salary shall be in lieu of all
criminal fees and costs, all of which said criminal fees and
costs, including fees in motor vehicle cases, shall be remitted
to the Treasurer of Allegany County; the civil jurisdiction
of said Justice shall be the same as provided in the Code of
