CHAPTER 309.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Queen
Anne's County to increase the pension of Percy Towers.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's
County be and they are hereby authorized to increase the pen-
sion of Percy Towers from Fifty Dollars ($50. 00) to One
Hundred Dollars ($100. 00) per year.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1929.

Approved April 11, 1929.

CHAPTER 310.

AN ACT to empower the Board of Public Works to obtain
. options, and to enter into negotiations relating to recom-
mendations by the Board of Regents of the University of
Maryland and the Maryland Commission on Higher Edu-
cation.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That the Board of Public Works is hereby author-
ized and empowered, with the approval of the Board of Re-
gents of the University of Maryland and the Maryland Com-
mission on Higher Education, to obtain options, for the future
purchase by the State of parcels of land, and improvements
thereon, which may be deemed necessary in order to carry out
such plains as may be recommended by the Board of Regents
of the University of Maryland and the Maryland Commission
on Higher Education for increased hospital facilities for the
University of Maryland, in the event that such plans are ap-
proved by the General Assembly of 1931 or thereafter.

The Board of Public Works is also authorized and empow-
ered to enter into negotiations and make such arrangements as
may be deemed necessary and expedient to enable such recom-
mendations as may be made by the University of Maryland and
the Maryland Commission on Higher Education, if approved
by the General Assembly of 1931, or thereafter, to be com-
