by a Yea and Nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the
members elected to each of the two Houses of the General As-
sembly, the same to take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 31.

AN ACT to empower the Mayor and Town Council of Garrett
Park to levy a special tax for the purpose of improving and
resurfacing the present road system of the said town, and
providing for a referendum thereon, and to use certain other
funds for the same purpose.

CHAPTER 32.

AN ACT to amend the Charter of the Annapolis Water Com-
pany as said Charter was amended and re-enacted by Chap-
ter 86 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1912; by extending the powers of the said Company
providing for the condemnation of land, structures, or build-
ings, stream beds, water ways, water rights, or water sheds
necessary for the proper operating of said Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That whenever it shall be deemed necessary and
advisable by the Annapolis Water Company to take or ac-
quire any land, structures or buildings, or any stream bed,
water way, water rights or water sheds, either in fee or as an
easement, within or outside of the City of Annapolis or Anne
Arundel County for the construction, extension or mainte-
nance of any water main, reservoir, water filtration plant,
tank or pumping station, or for the execution by the Annapolis
Water Company of any other function vested in it by this
Act or its Charter. The Annapolis Water Company may pur-
chase the same from the owner or owners, or failing to agree
with the owner or owners for the purchase thereof may con-
demn the same by proceedings in the Circuit Court for the
