them, but neither the Assistant Burgess nor any of the Commis-
sioners shall receive more than six dollars each month for at-
tending said meetings, and no other fee or compensation what-
ever shall be received by the Burgess, Assistant Burgess, and
Commissioners.
241S. The Burgess and Commissioners are hereby au-
thorized and empowered to provide by ordinance for selling
and conveying any and all parcels of real estate within the
corporate limits of said town, owned by said town, and not
needed for the purposes of said town, in the opinion of the
Burgess and Commissioners, and all ordinances for the sale
of said real estate shall provide for submitting the question
of said sale to the qualified voters of said town, at some regu-
la- election for the election of the Burgess and Commissioners;
and before any such ordinance shall be submitted to the quali-
fied voters of the town at least four weeks public notice shall
be given by handbills posted in at least fifteen conspicuous
places in the town of the intention to submit said ordinance
to the qualified voters of said town, said notice shall state
further, the ordinance in full, and no ordinance for the sale
of real estate as hereinbefore provided, shall be of any force
or validity unless it shall receive a majority of all votes cast
at such election. The proceeds derived from the sale of the
real estate as aforesaid, shall be deposited by the Treasurer
of said Town in the name of "The Burgess, and Commis-
sioners of Hancock, Maryland, " and paid out only when
duly authorized by an ordinance of the Burgess and Commis-
sioners of said town.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 222.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the corporation known as
the "Home and Infirmary of Western Maryland in the City
of Cumberland, '' as created under the general incorpora-
tion laws of the State of Maryland, on March 10, 1888, the
certificate of said corporation being recorded in Liber No. 1,
