CHAPTER 175.

AN ACT to authorize, empower and direct the County Com-
missioners of Worcester County to borrow upon the faith
and credit of said Worcester County the aggregate sum of
three hundred thousand dollars, and to issue and sell coupon
bonds therefor, to be known as "Worcester County Public
School Bonds (Issue of 1929), " the proceeds thereof to be
used for the purpose of building and equipping certain new
public school buildings in certain towns in said Worcester
County, and procuring suitable sites therefor, and for build-
ing a new public school building or buildings in the Seventh
Election District in said Worcester County; and appointing
a commission to supervise and direct the expenditure of
money arising from the sale of said bonds; to provide for
the payment of the interest on said bonds and of the prin-
cipal thereof by the levying of taxes; and providing for a
referendum vote on the question of whether or not said bonds
shall be issued.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That for the purpose of building and equipping a
new public school building in each of the towns of Pocomoke
City, Snow Hill, Berlin, Ocean City, Bishopville, Whaleyville
and Newark, and of procuring suitable sites therefor, and for
building a new public school building or buildings in the
Seventh Election District of said Worcester County, the Coun-
ty Commissioners of Worcester County are hereby authorized,
empowered and directed to borrow on the faith and credit of
said Worcester County the aggregate sum of three hundred
thousand dollars, and to issue bonds therefor as hereinafter
directed, said bonds to be signed by the President of the County
Commissioners of Worcester County and countersigned by the
County Treasurer of said County, with the seal of said County
affixed thereto.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That said bonds shall be
issued in denominations of one thousand dollars each, with
coupons attached thereto for the payment of the interest on
said bonds semi-annually on the first days of January and
July in each and every year until the maturity thereof, said
coupons to be signed by the said County Treasurer of Worces-
ter County or to have a fac-simile of said County Treasurer's
signature printed, lithographed, engraved or written thereon;
