SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Chapter 390 of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland of 1924, entitled "An Act to incorporate the
Town of Cottage City, in Prince George's County, Maryland, "
be and the same is hereby amended by adding three new sec-
tions thereto, said sections being designated as Sections 5A,
5B and 5C of said Charter, to read as follows:
5A. That the Cottage City Commission shall have full
power to pass such ordinances as they may deem necessary for
the good government, health and improvement of the town and
for the preservation of peace and good order therein; and by
ordinance to prevent and remove all nuisances and obstructions
from the streets, alleys, lanes, and from lots adjoining the
same; and by ordinance to restrain and punish all disorders,
disturbances and drunkenness therein; and by ordinance to
suppress bawdy houses or other places of public ill-fame or
injuries to the public order; and by ordinance to prevent the
firing of guns, cannon, pistols, rifles, slingshots, firecrackers or
other firearms or explosives therein; and by ordinance to
suppress fires and to prevent the danger thereof by all reason-
able regulations and precautions; and by ordinance to regu-
late the erection and repair of all buildings and grant permits
therefor, specifying the material of which the same may be
built and the purpose for which same may be used; and by
ordinance to prevent and to regulate the keeping and storing
of gunpowder, oil or other explosives or combustible material,
in such places and under such conditions as may appear proper;
to provide by ordinance for the proper restraining of all
improper public exhibitions or amusements and to regulate by
ordinance the proper erection of buildings therefor and the
maintenance of safe exits therefrom; to regulate and provide
by ordinance for the proper condition of sidewalks; to prevent
by ordinance the throwing or allowing the accumulation of
foreign material or of any offensive or dirty material on the
public streets or near thereto; to regulate by ordinance the
keeping of dogs in the town; to regulate by ordinance amuse-
ments, public exhibitions and business establishments and to
provide by ordinance a tax or license therefor and to provide
for the effective collection thereof; to provide by ordinance
proper penalties for any person keeping a dog or bitch, or
allowing one to remain on his premises who does not comply
with such regulations and providing for the killing of all
