444 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 158

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Allegany Coun-
ty are hereby authorized and empowered to borrow the sum of
One Hundred and Eighty Thousand ($180, 000. 00) Dollars,
and to issue notes therefor, said notes to bear interest from
elate of issue, at a rate not to exceed six per cent, per annum,
to be determined by the County Commissioners of Allegany
County, said notes to be issued in such denominations and for
such terms of not more than six months each as said County
Commissioners of Allegany County may deem proper, and to
renew the same from time to time, and any part thereof, until
said total sum of $180, 000. 00 with interest has been fully paid
under the provisions of this Act.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all proceeds re-
ceived from the issuance of said notes shall be paid unto the
said State Roads Commission of Maryland for the purpose of
paying and defraying the costs of constructing that certain
piece of lateral road in Allegany County, extending five and
one-half miles from a point fourteen miles southwest of Cum-
berland to McCoole.

SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, That the State Treasurer
or the State Roads Commission shall from year to year pay
unto the County Commissioners of Allegany County any and
all sums of money which shall accrue to the credit of Allegany
County from the funds derived from the "Lateral Road Gaso-
line Tax Fund, " as provided by Chapter 118 of the Acts of
1927, and/or from the Post Road Fund, and/or from any
other regular appropriation allotted to Allegany County, until
said full sum of One Hundred and Eighty Thousand ($180, -
000. 00) Dollars has been paid to said Allegany County, and
the said State Roads Commission shall not expend any sum
from either of said funds for, any other purposes until said
full sum of One Hundred and Eighty Thousand ($180, 000. 00)
Dollars has been paid to said County Commissioners of Alle-
gany County under the provisions of this Act.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That upon receipt by
the County Commissioners of Allegany County from the State
Roads Commission or the State Treasurer of any of the funds
hereinbefore mentioned, the said County Commissioners shall
immediately apply the same to the payment of said sum of
One Hundred and Eighty Thousand ($180, 000. 00) Dollars
or any balance thereof until the same shall have been fully
