CHAPTER 121.

AN ACT to incorporate "The Washington County Museum
of Fine Arts. "

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That William T. Hamilton, Jr., Mavin J. Hamil-
ton, R. Bruce Carson, Mary L. Titcomb, Lynn K. Brugh,
Robert H. McCauley, H. R. Rudy, John S. Kausler, John B.
Ferguson, John D. Hollyday and Henry Holzapfel, Jr., of
Washington County, Maryland, the Mayor of Hagerstown ex-
officio, and the President of the County Commissioners of
Washington County ex-officio, and their successors as herein-
after provided for be and they are hereby created a body cor-
porate with perpetual succession under name of "The Wash-
ington County Museum of Fine Arts, "

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said William
T. Hamilton, Jr., Mavin J. Hamilton, R. Bruce Carson, Mary
L. Titcomb, Lynn K Brugh, Robert H. McCauley, H. R.
Rudy, John S. Kausler, John B. Ferguson, John D. Hollyday
and Henry Holzapfel, Jr., the Mayor of Hagerstown ex-officio,
and the President of the County Commissioners of Washing-
ton County ex-officio, and their successors be and they are
hereby created a Board of Trustees of The Washington
County Museum of Fine Arts, and that the said Trustees and
their successors shall have all the powers and privileges here-
inafter enumerated to create, erect, establish and maintain a
public museum in the City of Hagerstown for the use of the
inhabitants of Washington County, Maryland, as follows: To
purchase, acquire, lease and hold in any other manner real
estate necessary for the purposes of the said museum; to re-
ceive by gift, grant, devise, bequest, or otherwise, any and all
lands necessary as a site for the said museum and to receive
. also by gift, grant, devise, bequest, or otherwise, all moneys,
funds, or other property for the erection of proper and suitable
buildings for museum and educational purposes; to receive also
all moneys, funds or other property, donated to said "The
Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, " and to apply the
same or the annual proceeds thereof, to the maintenance and
support of said museum, to the acquisition or purchase of art
objects and other exhibits and all other things or property
necessary for the proper equipment and maintenance of a
public museum, according to the intent and directions of any
