182 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 91

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Sections 24 and 25 of Article 23 of the Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Wicomico County, " sub-title
"Delmar, " as amended by Chapter 192 of the Acts of 1900,
and Section 27 of said Article as amended by Chapter 302 of
the Acts of 1914, be and the same are hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments, and that a new section be and it is
hereby added to said Article, to be known as Section 24A to
follow immediately after Section 24 of said Article, and all to
read as follows:

24. All persons twenty-one years of age and over, and all
persons who have attained the age of twenty-one years by the
second Tuesday in April following their registration, and who
shall have been living within the limits of said town for a
period of twelve months prior to the second Tuesday in April,
shall be entitled to register as qualified voters of Delmar and
shall on the second Tuesday in April, 1929, elect three persons
to be Commissioners of said town, and on the same day every
two years thereafter elect by ballot three persons as Commis-
sioners, and said Commissioners shall be entitled to receive the
sum of Twenty-five Dollars ($25. 00) each per year for their
services.

24A. It shall be the duty of the Commissioners of Delmar
on or before the first Monday in March, 1929, and every two
years thereafter, to appoint three resident and qualified voters
of said town as Registrars of voters therein. The Registrars
so appointed shall qualify within five days after their appoint-
ment, and shall before entering upon the discharge of their
duties make oath in due form of law before some Justice of
the Peace of Wicomico County that they severally will fairly,
faithfully and honestly perform their duties as such Registrars,
and on the failure of any such Registrar to serve or qualify,
said Commissioners shall appoint some other person duly quali-
fied as a substitute, and such substitute, after having taken the
aforesaid oath, shall hold the office for the unexpired term. The
Commissioners of Delmar shall furnish such Registrars with
suitable books in which to register voters according to the pro-
visions of this Act, and shall furnish a place where said Regis-
trars shall sit for the discharge of their duties. The Registrars
shall give at least one week's notice in some newspaper pub-
lished in said town of the time as hereinafter specified, and
place of the sitting of the Registrars for the purpose of regis-
