whose illustrious service in the war for American independ-
ence is well known to all who are familiar with our history;
therefore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of the State of Mary-
land, That the Governor of the State of Maryland, is hereby
authorized to issue a proclamation calling upon the State
Officials to display the United States flag on the State build-
ing, and the people of the State of Maryland to display the
flag at their homes or other suitable places, on October 11,
1929, in honor of the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of
the death of Brigadier General Casimir Pulaski, Revolution-
ary War Hero; and be it further
Resolved, That October 11, 1929, shall be designated and
known as General Pulaski's Memorial Day and that the Gov-
ernor of the State of Maryland is urged to request its observ-
ance as provided in this resolution; and be it further
Resolved, That there is hereby established a commission to
be known as the Maryland Pulaski Sesqui-centennial Commis-
sion (hereinafter referred to as the commission) and to be
composed of ten commissioners as follows: Six persons to be
appointed by the Governor of the State of Maryland, two
Senators by the President of the Senate, and two Delegates
by the Speaker of the House of Delegates of the State of
Maryland, and the commissioners shall serve without com-
pensation therefor from the State of Maryland; and be it
further
Resolved, That the commission is authorized to arrange an
appropriate observance and commemoration to take place in
the month of October, 1929, in the State of Maryland, of the
one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the death of Briga-
dier General Casimir Pulaski, and to participate, on behalf
of the State of Maryland, in such manner as it deems ad-
visable, in any other observance or celebration of such anni-
versary which may be held in the State of Maryland during
the year of 1929; and be it further
Resolved, That the members of the commission when ap-
pointed shall be persons of high standing and character, hav-
ing a known interest in suitably observing and commemorating
the events connected with the death of Brigadier General
