the Commissioner of Fisheries of Virginia and any authorized
commission or committee of Virginia appointed by the Gov-
ernor of that State or its General Assembly, for the purpose of
devising ways and means for the rehabilitation of the depleted
oyster bars of the Potomac River, and to report such recom-
mendations as may be agreed upon between the States of Mary-
land and Virginia to the Governor of Maryland before the Gen-
eral Assembly of this State convenes in 1931; and be it further

Resolved, That the Governor of Maryland cause a copy of
this Joint Resolution, under the Great Seal of Maryland, to be
sent to the Governor of Virginia.

A Joint Resolution providing for the observance and com-
memoration of the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of
the death of Brigadier General Casimir Pulaski, on Oc-
tober 11, 1929; establishing a commission to be known as
the Maryland Pulaski Sesqui-centennial Commission; and
designating October 11, 1929, as General Pulaski's Me-
morial Day.

WHEREAS, on October 11, 1929, will occur the one hun-
dred and fiftieth anniversary of the death of Brigadier Gen-
eral Casimir Pulaski, Revolutionary War Hero; and

WHEREAS, the service rendered by him was of great value
and assistance to the cause of American independence and of
such high importance that on September 15, 1777, he was
appointed Brigadier General of the Continental Army and
Chief of Dragoons, and on March 28, 1778, he was designated
commander of an independent corps known as Pulaski's
Legion; and

WHEREAS, he died on October 11, 1779, of wounds received
on October 9, 1779, at the siege of Savannah, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, it is but fitting that proper recognition should be
given to the memory of Brigadier General Casimir Pulaski
