WHEREAS, the present system is inefficient and unsatisfac-
tory; and
WHEREAS, something should be done to make provision for
the care of the aged and infirm dependents of the State in a
more humane manner than at present; therefore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Governor be and he is hereby requested to appoint a Commis-
sion consisting of nine members, one from each of the Counties
on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, to investigate the present
condition of the county homes and almshouses in said Coun-
ties and the needs of the dependent aged and infirm residents
of said Counties, and to report to the General Assembly of
1931 as to the advisability of establishing and maintaining a
Home and Infirmary for the dependent aged and infirm resi-
dents of said Counties with its recommendations relating there-
to; and be it further
Resolved, That the Governor be and he is hereby requested
to appoint a similar Commission consisting of fourteen mem-
bers, one from each of the Counties on the Western Shore of
Maryland, to make a similar investigation and report as to-
dependent aged and infirm residents of the Counties of the
Western Shore.

Joint Resolution requesting and directing the State Librarian
to furnish the Department of Legislative Reference copies
of the 1929 Supplement to the Annotated Code of Mary-
land and of the new edition of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland.
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Department of Legislative
Reference to keep its collection of the codes and laws of the
other States up to date, if it is to be of the greatest service
to the members of the General Assembly and to the State
officials; and
