1428 JOINT RESOLUTIONS.
WHEREAS, many of the provisions of said Article are con-
flicting and a number of changes in said Article have been pro-
posed from time to time, and
WHEREAS, the Commission on Obsolete Laws, appointed by
the Governor in pursuance of Joint Resolution No. 24, of the
General Assembly of 1927, has recommended that said Article
be revised, and it is deemed desirable to have a careful ex-
amination made of the State Election Laws with the view of
eliminating such unsatisfactory provisions as may be found,
and adding such new provisions as may be necessary to pro-
mote honest, economical and convenient elections in Maryland;
therefore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Governor of Maryland be and he is hereby authorized and
requested to appoint a Commission of nine persons to make an
examination of all of the laws of the State of Maryland re-
lating to elections, and to recommend to the Governor and the
General Assembly such eliminations from, additions to and
modifications of the existing laws as said Commission may
deem desirable; and be it further
Resolved, That said Commission shall submit its report
with recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly
of Maryland not later than January 15th, 1931, the said re-
port to contain a draft or drafts of such Act or Acts as may
be proposed to carry out its recommendations.

A Joint Resolution providing for the appointment of a Com-
mission to investigate and report as to the advisability
of establishing a Home and Infirmary for the dependent
aged and infirm residents of the Counties on the Eastern
Shore and a similar Commission for the Counties on the
Western Shore.
WHEREAS, the several Counties of the State maintain county
homes or almshouses; and
