ticulars to the election held under this Act, except as otherwise
provided herein.

The Judges and Supervisors of Elections of said Harford
County shall canvass the return in like manner as other elec-
tion returns, and they shall certify the number of votes cast
"For County Roads Engineer" and "Against County Roads
Engineer, " respectively, and file a certificate thereof with the
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Harford County, and another
with the Clerk of the County Commissioners of Harford
County. If the majority of votes cast at said election shall
be "For County Roads Engineer, " then this Act shall be-
come effective in all of its provisions as of January 1, 1932,
but if the majority of said votes be cast "Against County
Roads Engineer, " then this Act shall be of no effect and
shall be null and void.

CHAPTER 488.

AN ACT to authorize and provide for the completion of the
new General Indexes to the Land Records and Judgments,
and Equity Records in the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Harford County.

WHEREAS, by Chapter 24 of the Act of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1924, the Circuit Court for Harford County
was authorized to appoint a committee of three (3) competent
persons, members of the Bar of said Court, to select a satisfac-
tory system of General Land and Judgment Indexes for the
office of the Clerk of the said Court, to purchase all books needed
therefor, to contract for the making of said indexes, to verify
in conjunction with the Clerk of said Court the accuracy of
said indexes when made; and to do all things necessary in the
premises; and

WHEREAS, in pursuance of said Act a committee was duly
appointed as thereby authorized, and said committee selected
a system of Land and Judgment Indexes, and contract for the
making thereof; and

WHEREAS, by Chapter 99 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1927, the said committee, so as aforesaid ap-
pointed under the aforesaid Act of 1924, were authorized to con-
