tract for the finishing of the indexes to the Land Records of
Harford County and to further contract for the making of
the indexes to said Equity Records of said county; and
WHEREAS, much work has been done toward the re-indexing
of the Land Records and Equity Records of said Court, but it
has been necessary to do considerable additional work not con-
templated at the time the work was commenced; and
WHEREAS, the sum of Seven Thousand Dollars ($7, 000), appro-
priated under the said Acts of 1924 and 1927, is insufficient to
complete the work contemplated to be done thereunder and un-
der this Act; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the said committee, so as aforesaid appointed under
the aforesaid Act of 1924, is hereby authorized to contract for
the completion of the indexes to the Land Records of Harford
County, and the Equity Records of said county.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the total cost of the
necessary books and the making and verification of said Land
and Equity Indexes shall not exceed the sum of One Thousand
Dollars ($1, 000) in excess of the amount provided by the afore-
said Acts of 1924 and 1927; and that the said sum of One Thou-
sand Dollars ($1, 000) shall be furnished in the same manner as
provided in Chapter 24 of the Acts of 1924, that is to say: that
the excess fees of said Clerk's Office shall be devoted to the pay-
ment thereof, until the same is fully paid.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1929.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
269 of Article 16 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924
Edition), title "Chancery, " sub-title "Witnesses and Testi-
many, " authorizing the appointment of additional examiners
by the Circuit Court for Prince George's County.
