CHAPTER 60.

AN ACT to authorize and empower The Mayor and Aldermen
of Frederick to borrow upon the faith and credit of said
municipal corporation a sum of money not exceeding Two
Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250, 000. 00), and
to issue and sell serial coupon bonds therefor, of the par
value of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,
000. 00), and to expend the proceeds therefrom for all or
any of the following purposes, to wit: (1) making such
permanent improvements, repairs, extensions and additions
to the municipal water system, as it may think proper, and
to that end to acquire all land and right of way, which it
may consider necessary or desirable for that purpose; (2)
laying out, opening, extending and widening, in whole or in
part, any street, lane or alley, within the corporate limits of
the City, which in its opinion the public welfare or con-
venience may require and to acquire all land and interests
therein which it may consider necessary or desirable for
that purpose, and where a portion of a lot, whether improved
or unimproved, is necessary for that purpose and a portion
thereof not necessary, the City may, with the consent of
the owner, acquire the whole lot and dispose of such portion
thereof as may not be necessary for that purpose; (3) ac-
quiring title to land along the water sheds of Fishing Creek,
Tuscarora Creek and Ox Creek, in Frederick County, Mary-
land, from which the City receives its water supply; (4)
constructing sewers in such portions of the corporate and
police limits of the City as it shall think necessary or de-
sirable, and to acquire all land, which it may deem necessary
for that purpose and where a portion of a lot, whether im-
proved or unimproved, is necessary for that purpose and a
portion thereof not necessary, the City may, with the con-
sent of the owner, acquire the whole lot and dispose of such
portion thereof as may not be necessary for that purpose;
(5) providing payment for such expenditures, as in its
opinion may be necessary to establish Zoning Regulations in
Frederick, as provided by Chapter 705 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1927 and an ordinance
passed and approved by The Mayor and Aldermen of Fred-
erick, on the 30th day of January, 1929; and (6) providing
payment for such other permanent municipal improvements,
as in its judgment may be necessary or desirable; and pro-
viding for the payment of the interest on said bonds and for
