1010 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 364

4. The said Corporation, the Maryland Society for the Pre-
vention of Cruelty to Animals of Baltimore City, shall be
managed by a Board of Directors, which shall consist of not
less than twelve nor more than thirty Directors, as the Board
of Directors of said corporation may, in its discretion, upon
or at any time after the passage of this Act, ascertain and
determine; and the Board of Directors of said corporation is
hereby authorized and empowered upon and at any time after
the passage of this Act, and from time to time, in its discre-
tion, to change, ascertain and determine the number of direc-
tors who shall compose and constitute the Board of Directors
of said Society within said limits of from twelve to thirty
directors. If the Board of Directors of said Society, shall, in
the exercise of the power and authority vested in them by this
Act, increase the number of the Board of Directors to a
number of directors in excess of twelve prior to the annual
meeting of the members of said Society next following; the
passage of this Act, such Board of Directors so increased shall
be and constitute the Board of Directors of said Society,
charged with the management and control of its affairs, from
the time of said increase of said Board by the action of the
Board of Directors until their successors shall be elected as
herein provided. At the annual meeting of the members of
said Maryland, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals of Baltimore City next following the passage of this
Act, there shall be elected a Board of Directors of said Society
consisting and constituted of such number of directors as the
Board of Directors of said Society, upon or after the passage
of this Act and before said next following annual meeting
of the members of said Society, shall, in the exercise of the
authority and power by this Act vested in them, ascertain and
determine, which said Board of Directors, elected at said an-
nual meeting, shall constitute the Board of Directors of said So-
ciety, charged with the management and control of its affairs
for the period beginning at the time of their election and
running and continuing until their successors shall be elected
as herein provided; and of the total number of Directors so
to be elected as aforesaid, one-third of said total number shall
hold office until the annual meeting of the members of said
Society of the year one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one,
or until their successors are elected; and another one-third of
said total number of said directors so elected shall hold office
until the annual meeting of the members of said Society of

the year one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, or until
