the Acts of 1924, and to add an additional Section to said
Chapter 122 of the Acts of 1918, to be known as Section
8-A, providing for the collection of the front foot benefit
charge by the County Treasurers of Prince George's and
Montgomery Counties and to give the front foot benefit
charge the status of county taxes for the purpose of collec-
tion.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 11, 13 of Chapter 122
of the Acts of 1918, as the same was amended by Chapter
518 of the Acts of 1920 and by Chapters 469 and 189 of the
Acts of 1924, be and the same are hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments, and a new section to follow imme-
diately after Section 8, to be known as Section 8-A, be and the
same is hereby enacted, all of said aforementioned sections to
read as follows:

Section 2. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,, That for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of
this Act, said Sanitary District shall be under the jurisdic-
tion of a Commission of three members, one to be appointed
by the County Commissioners of Montgomery County, one by
the County Commissioners of Prince George's County, both
upon the recommendation of the State Board of Health of
Maryland, and the third to be named by the Governor of
Maryland, the first appointments hereunder to be made on or
before May 1st, 1918, upon which date the terms of office
shall begin. All appointees shall be residents and tax payers
of said Sanitary District, and shall serve for four years, or
until their successors are appointed and have qualified. Upon
the expiration of the terms of the members of said Commis-
sion, their successors shall be named in the same manner as
the original appointments were made. Any vacancy occur-
ring at any time in the personnel of the Commission shall be
filled by the agency making the original appointment and for
the unexpired term. The annual salary of the Chairman of
said Commission shall be three thousand dollars, and of one
of said Commissioners, not from the same County as the
Chairman, forty-eight hundred dollars, and for the third
Commissioner two thousand dollars, all payable monthly. The
Chairman and the Commissioner to receive forty-eight hun-
dred dollars shall be designated by the Governor and the
Commissioner so designated, to receive forty-eight hundred
