be subject to the approval of the Board of Public Works. In
case any balance remains to the credit of any of the above
named institutions or departments after the completion of any
of the purposes specified, then such institutions or departments
may expend such balance upon any building, construction or
equipment purpose which may be approved by the Board of
Public Works.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of the several counties of the State and the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore are hereby respectively directed
to levy the State taxes for the year 1928 at forty-eight one hun-
dredths (. 48) of one cent on each one hundred dollars ($100)
of assessable property: for the year 1929 at seventy-eight one
hundredths (. 78) of one cent on each one hundred dollars
($100) of assessable property; for the year 1930 at one and
fifteen hundredths (1. 15) of one cent on each one hundred
dollars ($100) of assessable property; and for the year 1931
and annually thereafter to and including the year 1943, at one
and seventy one hundredths (1. 70) of one cent on each
one hundred dollars ($100) of assessable property, to be col-
lected according to law, to meet the interest on the amount
of said certificates outstanding, and also to meet and redeem
so much of the principal in each of said years as may be
represented by certificates redeemable in each year, respec-
tively, as herein specified in Section 2 of this Act.

SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after the first day of June, 1927.

CHAPTER 346.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 625
of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(Revised Edition of 1915), title "City of Baltimore, " sub-
title "Justices of the Peace and Constables, " as said section
was amended by Chapter 187 of the Acts of 1922, increas-
ing the compensation of the Justices of the People's Court.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 625 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
