of said Court, to issue all process of said Court; all costs, fines,
and fees shall be paid to said Clerk and he shall accurately ac-
count for same and monthly remit the same to the County Com-
missioners of Wicomico County, and remit such fines to such
other authority as they may be payable under existing law;
said Clerk, before entering upon his duties, shall give bond to
the State of Maryland in the penalty of $5, 000. 00, with cor-
porate surety, the premium to be paid by the County Commis-
sioners of Wicomico County; the condition of said bond shall
be that said Clerk shall well and truly account for and remit
all monies coming into his hands each month to the County
Treasurer of Wicomico County, or to such other proper author-
ity as may be entitled thereto by existing law; said Clerk may
be removed from office by the Governor upon refusal to per-
form his duties or for misconduct or neglect.
LEVY:
54-K. The County Commissioners for Wicomico County are
hereby directed, authorized and empowered to make provision
by appropriation in their annual levy during the term for
which said Judge of The People Court is appointed from year
to year sufficient funds to pay the salaries of said Judge and
Clerk; and to provide said Judge with suitable dockets, indexes,
forms, supplies, and all other equipment, suitable safe, cabinets
and filing system for the preservation and filing of books and
papers; and all other necessaries for the conduct and function-
ing of said Court; they shall provide suitable quarters conve-
niently located in the central part of the City of Salisbury,
Maryland, for the transaction of the business of the Court, and
said Judge shall be the custodian of said quarters.
54-L. The Mayor and Council of Salisbury, Maryland, are
hereby directed, authorized and empowered to provide for in
each annual levy the portion of the salary hereinbefore pro-
vided to be paid said Judge by said City.
DISABILITY, ETC.
54-M. In the case of absence, illness or disability of the said
Judge of The Peoples Court, the said Judge of The Peoples
Court shall designate one of the other Justices of the Peace ap-
pointed for Wicomico County, to perform the duties of the
Judge of The Peoples Court; provided, however, that said des-
ignation shall not be for a longer term than fifteen days at any
one time; the said Justice of the Peace so designated shall have
all the powers and perform all the duties of the Judge of The
Peoples Court and shall be paid for his services by the Judge
of The Peoples Court.
