of the said police officers so appointed as sergeants of the Mont-
gomery County Police at a salary not to exceed the sum of
twenty-one hundred ($2100. 00) dollars per annum, payable
monthly. And shall designate three of said police officers
so appointed as patrolmen "First Class" of the Mont-
gomery County Police at a salary not to exceed the sum of
eighteen hundred ($1800. 00) dollars per annum, payable
monthly; and shall designate the remaining police officers so ap-
pointed as patrolmen at a salary not to exceed fifteen hundred
($1500. 00) dollars per annum, payable monthly, and the
County Commissioners are further authorized and directed to
pay to every member of the Montgomery County Police force
so designated and appointed an additional sum of three hun-
dred ($300. 00) dollars per annum for the purpose of defray-
ing each member's expenses for material and supplies for his
motorcycle, uniform and official equipment, and that the mem-
bers of the Montgomery County Police shall receive in addi-
tion to the amounts so authorized, no other fees or compensa-
tion of any kind whatsoever.

Section 4. And be it further enacted. That the members of
the Montgomery County Police appointed, as aforesaid, be
and they are hereby required to report to the chief of the police
immediately after their appointment and qualification, and
shall be at all times under the supervision and orders of the
said chief of police, and each of the members as aforesaid shall
at all times while on duty, unless otherwise ordered by the
chief of police., wear such uniforms and equipment as may be
prescribed by the County Commissioners. That the Chief of
Police shall at all times be under the supervision and order of
the County Commissioners. At any time with or without
cause or notice, any and all members of the Montgomery
County Police Force may be removed from office by the County
Commissioners.

Section 5. And be it further enacted. That the County Com-
missioners are hereby authorized, directed and empowered to
purchase not exceeding 4 automobiles and not to exceed 20
motorcycles, as the County Commissioners in their discretion
determine, for the use of the members of the County police.

Section 6. And be it further enacted, That all uniforms,
equipment, automobiles or motorcycles purchased under this
Act shall be and remain the property of the County, and shall
