inafter provided. The open season for all species of trout
shall be from the first day of April to the thirtieth day of
June, both dates inclusive, and the open season on bass of all
species and other game and fresh water fish shall be between
the first day of July and the thirtieth day of November, both
dates inclusive, and then only by means of rod, hook and line,
except bait fish may be taken by use of a dip or landing net
or seine not over six feet in length nor greater than three
feet in depth.

If any person found with a gig or gig iron and a light or
lights in his or her possession in or near any of the waters
of this State, above a point where the tide ebbs and flows, it
shall be prima facie evidence that same was in possession for
the purpose of violating this section.

Provided, however, it shall be lawful to fish for eels by the
use of a slat basket (commonly known as the Chesapeake Bay
eel pot) at any time, and it shall be lawful to fish by the use
of dip nets for suckers, catfish, carp, eels and gudgeons between
the first day of February and the first day of April, both dates
inclusive. It is further provided that the dip net provision
of this section shall not apply to the waters of Garrett County.

Provided, however, the open season for fishing for rainbow
trout, in so far as the same applies to that part of Yough-
iogheny River below Swallow Falls, in Garrett County, shall
be from July 1st to November 30th, inclusive.

Provided, however, it shall be unlawful for any person to
take in any one day more than twenty trout, or bass, of any

species above any point where the tide ebbs and flows.

Provided, however, it shall be lawful to set out line or trot
line or lines; however no person in setting or using same shall
place more than twenty-five hooks to any one line, and it shall
be unlawful for any person to place on said hooks any live
bait; however, it shall be unlawful for any person to take any
bass, or trout of any species by means of any out line or trot
line at any time.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts
of laws of the State of Maryland, general or local, inconsistent
with the provisions of this Act, be and the same are hereby
repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
