Treasurer. That the Assistant Treasurer or Treasurers, so
appointed, may be required by the said Treasurer to do any
and all work in relation to the assessment, transfer and tax
records of the County at any time during the year and it
shall be the duty of the Treasurer to assist and require the
said Assistant or Assistants and clerks to aid in the prepara-
tion or revision of the assessments and transfers each year and
in transcribing and recording such matters, including the
mailing of notices, so that a proper and efficient system may
be maintained in said office and the system of records be-
tween the office of the County Commissioners and of the
Treasurer may be complete and in accord.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted,, That this Act is an
emergency law and necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public health and safety and having passed upon a
yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly of
Maryland, shall take effect on the date of the passage thereof.

AN ACT to assent to the act of Congress passed at the second
session of the sixty-eighth Congress approved February 24,
1925, known as the Purnell Act, H. R. 157, entitled "An Act
to authorize the more complete endowment of Agricultural
Experiment Stations, and for other purposes. "

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 45
of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924
Edition), title "Courts, " sub-title "Salaries of Judges, " so
as to increase the salaries of the Chief Judge and of the
Associate Judges of the first seven Judicial Circuits of Mary-
land, to increase the salary of the Judge of the Court of
