SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this Act
is intended to or shall be construed to interfere with or defeat
any liability, power or duty of the treasurer now in office, or
any of his successors, or any of the proceedings already insti-
tuted or which may be hereafter instituted by the said treasurer
or any of his successors! for the collection of taxes which may
have been levied for any year prior to the year 1927.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1927.

CHAPTER 23.

AN ACT to add a: new section to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore County, " subtitle
"Roads and Streets, " as compiled by T. Scott Offutt and
published by the County Commissioners of Baltimore Coun-
ty (1916), to be known as Section 525-A, and to follow im-
mediately after Section 525, to give power and authority to
the County Commissioners of Baltimore County to assist
in the improving of Public Roads in Baltimore County that
have not been taken over as County Roads, but the improv-
ing of which will in the judgment of said County Commis-
sioners be advantageous to Baltimore County, and to pay
for1 such improvement out of the General Road and Bridge
Fund of Baltimore County, or out of any other funds avail-
able for road purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section to be known as Section 525-A
and to follow immediately after Section 525, be and it is here-
by added to the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Baltimore County, " sub-title "Roads and Streets, " as com-
piled by T. Scott Offutt and published by the County Com-
missioners of Baltimore County (1916).

525-A. The County Commissioners of Baltimore County
are hereby authorized and empowered to repair and rebuild
public roads in Baltimore County which have not been taken
over as County Roads, when in the judgment of the County
Commissioners of Baltimore County, it will be advantageous
