name shall be stricken from the registration books hereinafter
provided for.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That Section 7 is fur-
ther amended by adding thereto Sections 7-A, 7-B and 7-C, as
follows:

Section 7-A. And be it further enacted, That on or before
the second Monday in May in each and every year, the Mayor
and Town Council shall appoint two qualified voters of said
town not holding any other office thereunder as Supervisors of
Election, who shall also act as Registration Officials and Judges
of Election at any election held during the year succeeding
their appointment, and said Supervisors of Election are author-
ized to administer oaths in the performance of their duties here-
inafter set forth. In case of a vacancy occurring in said year
in the office of Supervisors of Election, the Mayor and Town
Council shall appoint a qualified person to fill said vacancy
occurring in said office. The Supervisors of Election shall re-
ceive five dollars each for each and every day they may be
required to serve as Judges of Election or as Registration
Officials.

Section 7-B. And be it further enacted, That the said
Supervisors of Election shall appoint by at least one advertise-
ment in some county newspaper having general circulation in
the town, the first and second Mondays in June in each and

every year for registration, on which days the Supervisors of
Election shall sit as Registration Officials at some easily ac-

cessible place in said town to be named in said advertisement
between the hours of 1 and 8 p. m.

Each of said Supervisors shall be furnished by the Mayor
and Town Council with a well-bound registration book which
shall be kept by him and for which he shall be responsible.
In such books there shall be a space for the name of each per-
son registering, his age, his color, his actual place of residence
in said town, his ward, his occupation, and the date of registra-
tion, and a space where he shall sign his name, or where the
registration official shall sign his name for him if he be unable
to write, in which case the person registering shall make his
mark. The Supervisors, acting as Registration Officials, shall
have the registration books at the place and at the times desig-
nated as above set out for registration, and shall swear each
applicant for registration, and if upon examination of such
