control of the same and do such repair and construction work
therein as it may deem proper.
The said Mayor and Common Council may, after it shall
have determined it to be necessary for the public benefit, con-
struct therein sidewalks, curbs, gutters and roadbed and street
improvements, (which improvements may be constructed all
at the same time or at different times, ) and after the comple-
tion of said improvements, or any of them, it shall assess the
costs thereof upon the land abutting the same in accordance
with Chapter 305 of the Laws of Maryland, 1910, as amended
by reference to said Chapter 305, or by reference to the Code
of Local Laws of said Prince George's County, codified by
Marion Duckett and Thomas Van Clagett, or by any law
enacted during 1927 session of the Legislature of Maryland.
Said Chapter 305 of the Laws of Maryland, 1910, as hereto-
fore amended, by reference to said Chapter 305, or by refer-
ence to said Code of Local Laws of Prince George's County, or
during the 1927 session of Legislature of Maryland, is hereby
made applicable to any of such streets, avenues or roads over
which supervision and control are taken by said Mayor and
Common Council under the provisions of this section.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is an
Emergency Act, and necessary to the preservation of the health
and safety of the citizens of Hyattsville and of the State of
Maryland, and three-fifths of the. members of both Houses
having concurred therein by a yea and nay vote, it is declared
to be an Emergency Act and as such shall take effect from the
date of its passage.

CHAPTER 162
AN ACT to amend the Code of Local Laws of Prince George's
County, Maryland, codified by Marion Duckett and Thomas
Van Clagett, by adding thereto a new section, to be known
as Section 323-A, making a certified copy of any ordinance
or record of the Mayor and Common Council of Hyattsville
prima facie evidence in all Courts.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Code of Local Laws of Prince George's
