less authorized by the Annual Committee of said Commu-
nity; and the Tax Collector or Treasurer of said Commun-
ity, or either one of said officers, shall have all of the
rights and powers for the collection and enforcement of
said taxes, as are given the County Treasurer of Garrett
County, under Chapter 566 of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, approved on the 8th day of April, 1890, and
to the same extent as if the said Act was enacted in this amend-
ment verbatim, unless the proceedings of such Treasurer or Col-
lector shall be modified by ordinances, passed by the Annual
Meeting, which body shall have the power at any time to mod-
ify or change the method of collection of said taxes.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1. 1927.

CHAPTER 161.

AN ACT to amend Section 329 of the Code of Local Laws of
Prince George's County, Maryland, codified by Marion
Duckett and Thomas Van Clagett, by adding thereto a pro-
viso authorizing the Mayor and Common Council of Hyatts-
ville to take over any street, avenue, road or alley within the
corporate limits of said town, to make sidewalk, curb, gutter
and roadbed and street improvements therein and to assess
the costs against the abutting property.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 329 of the Code of Local Laws of
Prince George's County, Maryland, codified by Marion Duckett
and Thomas Van Clagett, be, and the same is hereby amended,
to read as follows:

Section 329. All streets, avenues, roads and alleys in the
corporate limits of Hyattsville are hereby declared to be under
the supervision and control of the Mayor and Common Council,
but hereafter no street, avenue, road or alley shall be accepted
until the same has been graded and graveled or macadamized;
provided, that whenever the Mayor and Common Council of
Hyattsville shall determine it to be necessary for the public
benefit that any of said unaccepted streets, avenues, roads or
alleys should be taken over by it, it shall take supervision and
