such rules and regulations for their proper conduct and dis-
cipline as may be deemed best to insure their efficiency.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, Nineteen hundred and twenty-
seven (1927).

AN ACT to repeal Section 5 entitled "The Qualifications,
Powers and Duties of Mayor" and also Section 6 entitled "The
Council, " and also to repeal Section 16 entitled "Taxing Power"
of Chapter 456 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1916 entitled "An Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments the Charter of the Town of Brunswick, in Fred-
erick County, as said Charter was enacted by Chapter 495 of
the Acts of General Assembly of Maryland of 1898 and amend-
ed by Chapter 482 of the Acts of General Assembly of 1900
and by Chapter 520 of the Acts of General Assembly of 1904
and by Chapter 158 of the Acts of General Assembly of 1908
and by Chapters 511 and 601 of the Acts of General Assembly
1910 and by Chap-ter 660 of the Acts of General Assembly of
1912 and by Chapters 20 and 180 of the Acts of General Assem-
bly of 1914"; —and re-enact said Section 5 entitled "The
Qualifications, Powers, and Duties of Mayor, " and said Sec-
tion 6 entitled "The Council, " and said Section 16 entitled
'' Taxing Power, '' with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, that Section 5 entitled "The Qualifications, Powers and
Duties of Mayor, " and Section 6 entitled "The Council" and
Section 16 entitled "Taxing Power" of Chapter 456 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1916 entitled
"An Act to repeal and re-enact with amendments the Charter
of the Town of Brunswick, in Frederick County, as said Char-
ter was enacted by Chapter 495 of the Acts of General Assem-
bly of Maryland of 1898 and amended by Chapter 482 of the
Acts of General Assembly of 1900 and by Chapter 520 of
the Acts of General Assembly of 1904 and by Chapter 158
of the Acts of General Assembly of 1908 and by Chapters
511 and 601 of the Acts of General Assembly of 1910 and by
Chapter 660 of the Acts of General Assembly of 1912 and by
Chapters 20 and 180 of the Acts of General Assembly of 1914, "
