CHAPTER 10.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the municipal corporation,
The Town Commissioners of Centreville, to borrow upon the
faith and credit of said municipal corporation, the sum of
nineteen thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be
necessary, for the purpose of paying for new boilers, and
piping for the Electric Plant of said municipal corporation
and installing same therein and for the building of an addi-
tion to said Electric Plant building; to execute the promis-
sory notes of said municipal corporation and to renew said
notes from time to time for a period not exceeding seven
years from January 1, 1927.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Town Commissioners of Centreville, a municipal
corporation, be and it is hereby authorized and empowered to
borrow, upon the faith and credit of the said municipal corpo-
ration, the sum of nineteen thousand dollars, for the purpose of
paying for new boilers and piping and installing the same in
the Electric Plant of said municipal corporation, and also for
making an addition to the building of said Electric Plant and
to execute the promissory notes of said municipal corporation,
the Town Commissioners of Centreville, for the amount so bor-
rowed. Said notes shall be drawn in such amounts as the said
municipal corporation shall in its discretion determine, but the
total amount of said promissory notes shall not exceed the afore-
said sum of nineteen thousand dollars and the said municipal
corporation, the Town Commissioners of Centreville, is hereby
authorized and empowered, for and during a period not exceed-
ing seven years from and after the first day of January 1927, to
renew the said promissory notes as they mature from time to
time, in whole or in part, until all of said promissory notes and
interest to accrue thereon have been fully paid, but no renewal
note shall be drawn so as to fall due after the first day of Janu-
ary 1934, and no renewal notes shall be given by said municipal
corporation after the first day of January, 1934.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this Act
contained is intended or shall be taken or construed to relieve
the Town Commissioners of Centreville from any and all pro-
visions of Chapter 180 of the Acts of 1910 of the General As-
sembly of Maryland, known as the Public Service Commission
Law, or any amendments thereto.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public safety and health, and being passed
