WHEREAS, said note has been reduced to the sum of three thou-
sand dollars and it is now the desire of the Commissioners of
Church Hill to be authorized to issue the note of said Municipal
Corporation for the said sum of three thousand dollars; and
WHEREAS, said pole line was erected under permit No. 651 of
the State Roads Commission of Maryland and under the further
permission of the Public Service Commission of Maryland, un-
der order No. 8424 in case No. 2293; now therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the said Municipal Corporation, the Commissioners
of Church Hill be and it is hereby authorized and empowered
to borrow upon the faith and credit of said Municipal Corpora-
tion the sum of three thousand dollars, being the balance now
due of the cost of erecting poles and lines for supplying Church
Hill with electricity from Centreville and for transformers and
meters purchased by said Municipal Corporation, and to execute
the promissory notes of said Municipal Corporation, the Com-
missioners of Church Bill for the amount so borrowed. Said
notes shall be drawn in such amounts as the said Municipal
Corporation shall in its discretion determine, but the total
amount of said promissory notes shall not exceed the aforesaid
sum of three thousand dollars and the said municipal corpora-
tion, the Commissioners of Church Hill, is hereby authorized
and empowered, for and during a period not exceeding five
years from and after the first day of January 1927, to renew
the said promissory notes as they mature from time to time, in
whole or in part, until all of said promissory notes and interest
to accrue thereon have been fully paid, but no renewal note
shall be drawn so as to fall due after the first day of January
1932 and no renewal notes shall be given by said municipal cor-
poration after the first day of January 1932.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this Act
contained is intended or shall be taken or construed to relieve
the Commissioners of Church Hill from any and all provisions
of Chapter 180 of the Acts of 1910 of the General Assembly of
Maryland, known as the Public Service Commission Law, or any
amendments thereto.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public safety and health, and being passed
upon a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the
members elected to each of the two Houses of the General As-
sembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
