General Assembly of Maryland, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:
3. The said Town Commissioners of Centreville, a municipal
corporation, be and it is hereby authorized and empowered to
borrow on the faith and credit of the said municipal corpora-
tion, the sum of five thousand dollars, or so much thereof as
may be necessary, for the purpose of acquiring additional land
for the Chesterfield Cemetery to be used as a burial ground and
to put same in shape for said use and to fence and inclose same,
and to execute the promissory notes of the said municipal corp-
oration, The Town Commissioners of Centreville, for the amount
so borrowed. Said notes shall be drawn in such amounts as the
said municipal corporation shall in its discretion determine, but
the total amount of said promissory notes shall not exceed the
aforesaid sum of five thousand dollars and the said municipal
corporation, The Town Commissioners of Centreville, is hereby
authorized and empowered, for and during a period not exceed-
ing six years from and after the first day of January, 1924,
to renew the said promissory notes as they mature from time
to time, in whole or in part, until all said promissory notes and
the interest to accrue thereon have been fully paid, but no re-
newal note shall be drawn so as to fall due after the first day of
January, 1930, and no renewal note shall be given by said
municipal corporation after the first day of January, 1930.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1? 1927.

CHAPTER 9.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Municipal Corporation,
the Commissioners of Church Hill, to borrow upon the faith
and credit of said Municipal Corporation, the sum of three
thousand dollars for the purpose of paying the balance now
due on the poles and electric line running from Centreville to
Church Hill and the transformers and meters used in supply-
ing electric current to Church Hill; to execute the promissory
notes of said Municipal Corporation for a period not exceed-
ing five years from January 1st, 1927.
WHEREAS, under a petition signed by the citizens of Church
Hill, the Commissioners of Church Hill borrowed on a note
signed by many citizens of said town the sum of five thousand
dollars, which said sum was used in paying for the erection of
poles and pole lines for supplying electric current from Centre-
ville to Church Hill and for buying transformers, and meters, and
