vested in it by the General Assembly of Maryland, be, and it
is hereby further authorized and empowered for the purpose
of maintaining its water works, to assess rates for the supply
and use of water therefrom, to any point, place or property
within the corporate limits of East New Market, in Dorchester
County, Maryland, and to assess against and upon any real

-estate, as other municipal taxes, to which said water is sup-
plied, such rates or charges as taxes, and such taxes, so assessed,
shall be part and parcel of all the other municipal taxes levied
and assessed upon any such real estate, and shall be due and
payable and collectible as all other municipal taxes are due,
payable and collectible, and when overdue and in arrear, to

draw interest as other municipal taxes draw interest when over-
due and unpaid, with power and authority to the official who

collects other municipal taxes to collect said water taxes by any

and all the processes by which other municipal taxes may be
collected, the said official to have the power and authority to
sell the real estate upon which said water taxes are levied and
assessed, or to sue and recover said water taxes by suit before a

justice of the peace, if the amount of the same shall be within
the jurisdiction of a justice of the peace, or in the Circuit Court
for Dorchester County, if the amount to be collected, is within
the jurisdiction of the said Court, by suit, and provided that if
the said taxes or water rates are fixed by the year, but payable
in fractional parts thereof, or in different parts of the year,
then any fractional part of the annual rate shall be due and
collectible at such time of the year that such fractional part
of the annual rate or amount shall be declared to be due by
the Commissioners of East New Market, and if any such
fractional part is due and in arrear the same may be collected
lay the aforesaid processes for collection, hereinbefore set forth,
and the said Commissioners of East New Market have the
power and authority to fix water rates or amounts to be charged
for the use of the said water, and to fix said rates at so much per
year, or an amount for a year, but they may fix said annual
amount to be due and payable, in instalments or by the quar-
ter of the year or any other fractional part of the year, and the
owners of all real estate within the said corporate limits shall
have notice of the assessment against their property of said
water rates, as is required as to notice as to other municipal
taxes, but the Commissioners of East New Market, may in
addition to, or substitution for the notice heretofore fixed by
law to be given to property owners as to other municipal taxes,
may provide other and different reasonable notice to the owners
