SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 192-197, both inclusive, of Article 81 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, Edition of 1924, Title "Revenue
and Taxes, " sub-title "Tax on Gross Receipts of Certain Corpo-
rations, " be, and the same are, hereby repealed,

CHAPTER 584.

AN ACT concerning the proof of statutes of other jurisdic-
tions and to make uniform the law with reference thereto.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That three additional sections are hereby enacted to fol-
low Section 56 of Article 35 of Bagby's Code of 1924 of Public
General Laws of Maryland and to be known as Sections 56-A,
56-B and 56-C as follows:

SEC. 56-A. (Publications Covered by this Act. ) Printed
books or pamphlets purporting on their face to be the session or
other statutes of any of the United States, or the territories there-
of, or of any foreign jurisdiction, and to have been printed
and published by the authority of any such state, territory
or foreign jurisdiction or proved to be commonly recognized
in its courts, shall be received in the courts of this state as
prima facie evidence of such statutes.

SEC. 56-B. (Uniformity of Interpretation. ) This act com-
prising Sections 56-A, 56-B and 56-C shall be so interpreted
and construed as to effectuate its general purposes to make
uniform the law of those states which enact it.

SEC. 56-C. (Short Title. )1 This Act comprising Sections
56-A, 56-B and 56-C may be cited as the Uniform Proof of
Statutes Act.

CHAPTER 585.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 180 and 185 of Article 21 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot
County, " sub-title "St. Michaels, " and to re-enact the same
with amendments, and providing for a referendum thereon.
