CHAPTER 93.

AN ACT to repeal Chapter 394 of the Acts of 1916, and to
repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 46 of Article
5 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland (1888 Edition),
title "Calvert County, " sub-title "County Commissioners. "
and Section 55 of said Article as amended by Chapter 310
of the Acts of 1898, and to add a new section to said Article,
to be known as Section 55-A and to follow immediately
after Section 55, increasing the salaries of the County Com-

missioners of Calvert County and the Clerk to said Com-
missioners, and providing for office hours for said Clerk
and Commissioners.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Chapter 394 of the Acts of 1916 be and the
same is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Sections 46 and
55 of Article 5 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland (1888
Edition), title "Calvert County, " sub-title "County Commis-
sioners, " be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments to read as follows:

46. There shall be three county commissioners for Calvert
county. They shall each receive an annual salary of six hun-
dred dollars and no more for any purpose whatsoever, and
said salary shall be payable by the Treasurer of said County,
as other debts of said County are paid.

55. The County Commissioners shall immediately after
the passage of this Act, appoint a clerk to their board, who
shall hold his office until his successor is appointed and quali-
fied and who shall receive as compensation for his services as
such clerk the sum of eight hundred dollars per annum and
no more, to be levied for by said Commissioners as is usual

in such cases; and hereafter it shall be the duty of said
Board of Commissioners immediately after any general elec-
tion, when a new commissioner or commissioners is or are
elected and their board shall have been re-organized, to ap-
point a clerk to serve for the term of two years or until his
successor is appointed and qualified, who shall receive the-
same salary as hereinbefore provided.
