SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That a new section be
and it is hereby added to Article 5 of the Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1888 Edition), title "Calvert County, " sub-
title "County Commissioners, " to be known as Section 55-A,
to follow immediately after Section 55 and to read as follows:

55-A. Said Clerk and County Commissioners shall attend
at the office of the Board of County Commissioners of Calvert
County each and every Tuesday from 10 A. M. to 3 P. M.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted. That all Acts and parts
of Acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed to the ex-
tent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1927.

CHAPTER 94.

AN ACT to repeal Section 78 and Section 79 of Chapter 96
of the Acts of 1922 of the General Assembly of Maryland,
and Section 78 and Section 79 of Article 1-A of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland pertaining to the Charter
of the City of Cumberland, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 78 and Section 79 of Chapter 96 of
the Acts of 1922 of the General Assembly of Maryland, and
Section 78 and Section 79 of Article 1-A of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland pertaining to the Charter of the
City of Cumberland, be and the same are hereby repealed and
re-enacted so as to read as follows, to wit:

78. Whenever the Mayor and City Council shall levy any
sum of money on the owners of property in said City for grad-
ing, paving, sewering or otherwise improving the streets, lanes
or alleys in said City, or any of them, the sum so levied shall
be a preferred lien on said property the same as City taxes
now are; provided said Mayor and City Council shall, within
