WHEREAS, by the Acts of 1920 Chapter 480 the University of
Maryland and the Maryland State College of Agriculture were
consolidated under the name of the University of Maryland,
whereby said property became vested in the said University of
Maryland; and

WHEREAS, the said University of Maryland, a corporation
consolidated by the said Acts of 1920 Chapter 480, is desirous
of selling said property at the northwest corner of Calvert and
Saratoga Streets, but, in order to convey title thereto, the re-
verter to the State of Maryland, as provided by the said Acts
of 1868 Chapter 246 should be released and extinguished.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That so much of the aforesaid provisions of the Act of
the General Assembly of Maryland of 1868 Chapter 246, pro-
viding for a reverter to the State of Maryland, in the event
the property therein referred to or mentioned should be used
for purposes, other than as specified in said Act, and also the
provisions for a public sale of said property in such event, be,
and the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the University of
Maryland, a body corporate, be, and it is hereby empowered
and authorized to sell and convey the said property, in the City
of Baltimore, State of Maryland, situate at the northwest cor-
ner of Calvert and Saratoga Streets, known as the College of
Physicians and Surgeons Lot and Building, free, clear and dis-
charged from any and all rights or claim of any kind of the
State of Maryland, by reason of any of the provisions of the
aforesaid Act of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1868
Chapter 246, and also free and clear of any restrictions, as to
the use of said property by the purchaser thereof, as contem-
plated in the said Acts of 1868 Chapter 246.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the University of
Maryland, a corporation, be. and it is hereby authorized and
empowered to accept the net proceeds from the sale of the afore-
said property, situate in Baltimore City, State of Maryland, at
the northwest corner of Calvert and Saratoga Streets, after the
payment or deduction from the purchase money of all existing
mortgages or encumbrances thereon, and to invest the same in
real estate and the improvements thereon, which shall be held
under the same Trust as have heretofore attached to the said
lot at the northwest corner of Calvert and Saratoga Streets.
