SEC. 11. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public safety, and being passed upon a
yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all of the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 356.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 354-A
of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(Revised Edition of 1915), title, "City of Baltimore, " sub-
title, ''Register of Wills, " as said section was amended by
Chapter 250 of the Acts of 1918, increasing the number and
the compensation of the Appraisers in the office of Register
of Wills of Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 354-A of Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (Revised Edition of 1915), title, "City
of Baltimore, '' sub-title, '' Register of Wills, '' as said section was
amended by Chapter 250 of the Acts of 1918, be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:

354-A. The Register of Wills of Baltimore City shall ap-
point five appraisers for his full term of office, unless their
places shall become vacant by removal from cause, death, resig-
nation or otherwise. The said appraisers shall appraise the
goods, chattels and personal estates of all decedents under ad-
ministration in the Orphans' Court of Baltimore City; and
shall in each case make the charges therefor now allowed by law
and certify the same to the Register of Wills; they shall receive
an annual salary of twenty-five hundred ($2, 500. 00) dollars
each, to be paid by said Register out of the fees of the office re-
turned by said appraisers. The said Register shall keep an ac-
curate account of all monies received for such appraisements,
and shall account for and pay the same except the amount re-
quired to pay the salaries of said appraisers into the State
Treasury, as he is now required by law to account for and pay
other monies for which he is accountable to the State.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.
