name and style, shall have continued and perpetual succes-
sion, and be able and capable in law of suing and being sued,
pleading and being impleaded, answering and being answered,
in any court of law or equity of this State, and to make and
have a common seal, and the same to alter at their pleasure;
and to hold, purchase and enjoy, any estate, real personal or
mixed, in the same manner as other religious societies are
authorized to acquire, hold and enjoy such estate by the con-
stitution and laws of this State; Provided, that such estate
shall not exceed in value one hundred thousand dollars.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1924.

CHAPTER 298.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 8 of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland, title ' * Cecil County, '' sub-title
"County Commissioners, " said new section to be known as
Section 110A and to follow immediately after Section 110
of said Article, requiring all real property to be transferred
on the county assessment books before deeds are received for
recording.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 8
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Cecil
County, " sub-title "County Commissioners. " said new section
to be known as Section 110A, to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 110 of said Article and to read as follows:

110A. Before any deed for the conveyance of real estate in
Cecil County shall be received for record by the Clerk of the
Circuit Court thereof, the person offering said deed for record
shall submit the same to the Clerk to the County Commissioners
of said county, who shall thereupon make transfer on the county
assessment books of the said property to the name of the new
owner or owners thereof, and as evidence of said transfer, shall
stamp upon the said deed his certificate thereof, and no deed
shall be received for record without said certificate. At the
time of submitting the deed to the Clerk to the County Commis-
sioners, the person or persons offering the same shall furnish
said clerk with a statement of the buildings, if any. upon the
