Government to dispense intoxicating liquors for medicinal pur-
poses, and that a new section be and it is hereby added to said
Article, to be known as Section 421-A, to follow said Section 421
of said Article and to read as follows:
421-A. The provisions of the three preceding sections shall
not apply, nor be construed to apply, to registered druggists or
pharmacists holding a permit from the United States Govern-
ment to dispense liquor or intoxicating drinks on prescriptions
of regularly practicing physicians, and any and all duly regis-
tered druggists or pharmacists holding such permits engaged in
such business or who shall hereafter engage in the drug business
in Harford County shall be, and they are hereby authorized to
buy, hold and dispense within said county alcoholic liquors for
medicinal purposes under the license and authority of the United
States Government.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is an
emergency law and necessary for the immediate preservation of
the public health and safety, and having been passed by a yea
and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members of
each of the two Houses elected to the General Assembly, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 297.
AN ACT to repeal Chapter 240 of the Acts of Assembly of
1853 entitled an Act to incorporate the Trustees of the
Baair Cheiim (the Well of Life) Congregation and to re-
enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted, That Section 1 of Chapter 240
of the Acts of Assembly of 1853, entitled an Act to incorpo-
rate the Trustees of the Baair Cheiim (the Well of Life) Con-
gregation, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Henry Rosenbach, Abraham Shields, Isaac Nathan, Abra-
ham Sonneborn, Joseph Burgunder and Henry Adler,
of said congregation, and their successors, chosen in manner
hereinafter directed, shall be. and they are hereby constituted
and erected into a body corporate, by the name and style of
the Trustees of Baair Cheiim Congregation, and by the same
