the Edition of 1916, title, "Baltimore County, " sub-title,
"County Commissioners, " to follow immediately after Section
138, said new section to read as follows:
Section 138A. The County Commissioners of Baltimore
County are hereby authorized and directed to pay to the Su-
pervisor of Assessments of Baltimore County such sum for
traveling expenses as said County Commissioners may de-
termine, not to exceed six hundred dollars ($600. 00) per an-
num, said traveling expenses to be raised and paid in the same
manner as is provided for raising and paying the salary of
twenty-four hundred dollars per year to the Supervisor of As-
sessments of Baltimore County by Section 240 of the Acts of
1914.

CHAPTER 248.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 324
of Offutt's Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County,
Edition of 1916, title "Baltimore County, " sub-title "Jus-
tices of the Peace and Constables, " as the same was re-
pealed and re-enacted with amendments by Chapter 123 of
the Acts of 1920. and by Chapter 45 of the Acts of 1922,
relating to fees of justices of the peace in Baltimore County,
and relating to compensation of certain of said justices sit-
ting as committing magistrates.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 324 of Offutt's Code of Public Local Laws
of Baltimore County, Edition of 1916, title "Baltimore Coun-
ty, " sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables, " be and
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments
so as to read as follows:
Section 324. That the justices of the peace in Baltimore
County shall be entitled to charge for their services in crim-
inal cases the following fees: For issuing each State writ,
twenty-five cents; and for issuing summons for witnesses,
including all witnesses ordered by the same party or side at
one time, twenty-five cents; provided that if more than five
witnesses be ordered by the same party or side at one time,
then the justices of the peace shall be entitled to receive twen-
ty-five cents additional for each five witnesses, or less than five
