shall have become physically or mentally incapacitated from
performing the duties of bailiff from ailments or accidents
not resulting from any own misconduct, shall be entitled to
retirement with a salary of $1, 000 per annum, payable as other
bailiffs' salaries are now paid, provided that such retirement
shall be evidenced by a satisfactory certificate approved by the
Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, directed to the City Regis-
ter, advising him of the retirement of the said bailiff, and that
said retirement is in accord with the provisions of this section.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 246.
AN ACT to repeal Section 99 of Article 48A of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title, "Insurance, " sub-
title, ''Life, Accident and Health Insurance, " as enacted by
Chapter 492 of the Acts of 1922, relating to health and
accident reserves of industrial life insurance companies;
and to repeal and re-enact, with amendment, Section 97 of
said Article 48A, title and sub-title as aforesaid, relating to
mutual, co-operative or assessment industrial life insurance
companies converted to stock companies prior to July 1,
1916.

CHAPTER 247.
AN ACT to add a new section, to be known as 138A, to Of-
futt's Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County of
the Edition of 1916, title, "Baltimore County, " sub-title.
"County Commissioners, " to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 138 authorizing and directing the County Commission-
ers of Baltimore County to pay to the Supervisor of Assess-
ments of Baltimore County such sum for traveling expenses
as said County Commissioners may determine, not to ex-
ceed six hundred dollars ($600. 00) per annum.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section, to be known as 138A, be added to
Offutt's Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County of
