from the sale of the said bonds, or the said Commissioners,
may, in their, discretion, acquire the said laud, and pay for the
same out of any money that might be in the treasury of the
town at the time the said land is bought, or acquired, even
though the said Commissioners may decide not to erect any
municipal buildings thereon but to hold the said land for the
purpose of erecting thereon such a building or buildings at
some future time, and the said Commissioners are authorized
to issue and sell enough of the bonds hereby authorized, to en-
able them to pay for the said land, and should they, or their
successors, decide to acquire land for said purpose but not to
build thereon, then the power hereby granted shall be opera-
tive for said purpose, and if in their discretion, they should
later decide to erect the said building on the said land, then
the balance of the issue herein authorized may be legally issued
and sold under the powers herein granted, and should the said
lands be acquired and paid for out of the general fund in the
treasury the said purchase money may be replaced in the treas-
ury by the proceeds of the sale of the bonds, whether only
enough are issued to pay for the said land or whether enough
are issued to pay for the land and for the erection of the build-
ing, or the said Commissioners may issue and sell all of the
herein authorized bonds at one time and acquire the land and
erect the buildings thereon. The powers herein granted shall
be construed to authorize the erection of one building or more
upon the said land, provided that the amount herein author-
ized of $60, 000. 00 shall not be exceeded.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the 1st day of June, 1924.

CHAPTER 171.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners of
Prince George's County, Maryland, to borrow upon the faith
and credit of said County the sum of forty thousand dollars
($40, 000. 00) and to issue its bonds therefor and to apply
the proceeds to the construction of a concrete road along the
line of the present Edmonston Road in said County; and to
provide for the payment of said bonds by a tax on a certain
defined area.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Prince George's
