were enacted by Chapter 382 of the Acts of 1906, be and the
same are hereby repealed and re-enacted as Sections 184A,
184A2, 184A4, 184A13, 184A18 and 184A23, and to read as
follows:
OFFICERS.
184A. The officers of said corporation shall be a Mayor, a
Council composed of six members, a Clerk, a Treasurer, a Tax
Collector, a Bailiff, a Board of Health of three members, who
shall severally enjoy such powers and perform, such duties as may
be prescribed by this Act and the ordinances passed in pursuance
thereof. The Mayor, the members of the Council, the Clerk
and the Secretary of the Board of Health shall be elected by
the voters of the said town; the Treasurer, Bailiff and the Tax
Collector shall be elected by a majority vote of the Mayor and
Council. The Bailiff shall, by virtue of his office, be one
member of the Board of Health; and he shall take the same
oath as the Mayor and Council before entering upon his duties,
and shall give bond to be approved by the Mayor and Council
for the faithful performance of the duties of his office, and he
shall collect all fines which may be imposed for the violation of
any of the city ordinances and shall account therefor monthly
to the Clerk of the said city. The Council shall at its first
meeting in each term elect one of its members to serve upon
the Board of Health during the year in which elected until his
successor has been elected by the Council. The Secretary of
the Board of Health shall be a physician and shall reside with
in the limits of the corporation of Midland, and when elected
shall constitute the third member of the Board of Health. All
the officers elected by the Council shall hold office, respectively,
for one year from the first Monday in June in the year for
which they have 'been elected and until their successor shall
have been elected and qualified. Any officer, whether elected
by the people or appointed by the Council, or by the Mayor
with the consent of the Council, may be removed at any time
by a majority vote of the members of said Council for mis-
conduct, neglect of duty or inability to perform the duties of
his office.
ELECTIONS.
184A2. The inhabitants of the town of Midland, who have
resided there for six months next preceding any municipal
election having the qualifications prescribed for voters by the
laws of this State, and who have been registered as hereinafter
prescribed shall on the second Monday in May, 1904, and on
