SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
12 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Gar-
rett County, " sub-title "Oakland, " said new section to be known
as Section 170½ and to follow immediately after Section 170
of said Article, and to read as follows:

170½. There shall be a registration in the year nineteen
hundred and twenty-five (1925) and bi-ennially thereafter, at
least thirty (30) days before the regular municipal election in
March of said years for the purpose of registering all persons
who desire to vote at municipal elections held in the town of
Oakland. The registration held in the years subsequent to the
year nineteen hundred and twenty-five (1925) shall, however,
be merely for the purpose of revision. The City Council of
Oakland shall appoint some competent person at such a salary
or compensation and for such a term or terms as it shall
determine upon, to make and revise the registrations aforesaid.
The City Council shall adopt such rules and regulations for
the making of the registrations aforesaid, as it shall see fit to
make, provided that the said rules or regulations shall in no
way alter, amend, or affect in any way the qualifications or
rights of persons to vote as now determined by law.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 144.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
184A, 184A2, 184A4, 184A13 and 184A18 of Article 1 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of the State of Maryland,
entitled "Allegany County, '' sub-title "Midland, " as the
same were enacted by Chapter 382 of the Acts of 1906, and
to re-enact the same with amendments to be known as Sec-
tions 184A, 184A2, 184A4, 184A13 and 184A18 of the Acts
of 1924, and to add a new section to be known as Section
184A23.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 184A, 184A2, 184A4, 184A13 and 184A18
of the Code of Public Local Laws of the State of Maryland,
title "Allegany County, " sub-title "Midland, " as the same
