CHAPTER 139.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the Board of Public Works to
sell the Western Hay Scales and the property upon which
said scales are located on Frederick Avenue, Baltimore City,
and to repeal Chapter 381 of Acts of 1867, and Chapter
401 of the Acts of 1878.
WHEREAS, There is no demand for using the Western Hay
Scales on Frederick Avenue, Baltimore City; and
WHEREAS, The property owned by the State upon which the
said scales are located is in such condition as to be highly ob-
jectionable to the residents in the immediate neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, The said property is no longer of any use to the
State; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of Public Works be and it is hereby
authorized and directed to sell, either at public or private sale,
upon such terms as said Board may, in its discretion, deem
advantageous, the Western Hay Scales located on Frederick
Avenue, Baltimore City, and the property owned by the State
adjoining and upon which the said hay scales are located. The
proceeds from the sale of said property shall be paid into the
State Treasury and credited to the general funds of the State.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Governor be
and he is hereby authorized to execute the deed to convey the
property described in the preceding section of this Act.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That Chapter 381 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of 1867, and Chapter 401 of the
Acts of 1878, be and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 140.
AN ACT to authorize the State Roads Commission to investigate
and settle the claim of Clara Casson, wife, and Ella M.
Casson and Katie Casson, infant children of Wilmer Casson,
deceased, for his death due to a defect in the Conowingo
Bridge, under the control of the Commission.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That since the State Roads Commission is immune from
suit, and otherwise has limited powers to make adjustments.
