CHAPTER 14.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments. Section 124
of Article 12 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title, "Garrett County, " sub-title, "Jurors, " increas-
ing the pay of the jurors of Garrett County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 124 of Article 12 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title, "Garrett County, " sub-title,
"Jurors, " be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, so as to read as follows:
124. The jurors of Garrett County shall receive each three
dollars and fifty cents for each day they attend the Circuit
Court, and when they reside more than five miles from Oak-
land they shall receive an additional sum of twelve and one-
half cents for each mile over five miles, to be allowed only in
one direction and only once in each term.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 15.
AN ACT to add two new sections to Article 12 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title, "Garrett County, ",
sub-title, "Circuit Court, " said new sections to be known
as Sections 31 and 32, and to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 30 of said article, said new sections providing for and
prescribing the method of renewing a summons and giving
the clerk authority to return papers filed with declaration
under certain circumstances.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That two new sections be and they are hereby added to
Article 12 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title, "Garrett County, " sub-title, "Circuit Court, " said new
sections to be known as Sections 31 and 32, and to follow im-
mediately after Section 30 of said article, and to read as
follows:
31. When any defendant shall be returned "non est" the
Clerk of the Circuit Court shall, upon the written request of
