CHAPTER 101.

AN ACT to provide for the refunding and extension of the
indebtedness of the City of Crisfield, Somerset County,
Maryland, authorized under Chapter 131 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1906.

WHEREAS, The Commissioners of Crisfield heretofore issued
bonds of the City of Crisfield, Somerset County, Maryland,
under the authority vested in it by Chapter 131 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland, of 1906, in the sum of five
thousand Dollars, which will fall due in 1926; and

WHEREAS, It is desirable and to the interest of the City of
Crisfield that the said bonds be refunded, and the time of
payment extended and new bonds issued.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purpose of redeeming and extension of the
time of payment of five thousand dollars of the bonds issued by
the Commissioners of Crisfield, under Chapter 131 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1906, which will fall
due in 1926, that the Mayor and Council of Crisfield (the
successors of the Commissioners of Crisfield) be and it is
hereby authorized and empowered to issue bonds on the faith
and credit of said municipal corporation in the sum of five
thousand dollars, the proceeds of sale whereof shall be applied
to pay off the said five thousand dollars of bonds issued by the
Commissioners of Crisfield pursuant to Chapter 131 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1906, which
fall due in 1926, said bonds to be issued in denominations of
five hundred dollars each, due and payable twenty years from
the date of issue thereof; that said bonds shall bear interest
not exceeding five per cent, per annum, payable semi-annually,
after the date of said bonds, which interest may be evidenced
by coupons to be attached thereto; that said bonds shall be
signed by the Mayor of Crisfield, sealed with the corporate seal
of the corporation, and attested by the Clerk thereof; that the
faith and assessable property of the said City of Crisfield are
hereby pledged to the payment of the principal and interest of
said bonds, which bonds shall be exempt from county and
municipal taxation, and that said bonds may be registered by
the Clerk of the Corporation, and shall have printed on them
a distinct reference to this Act authorizing the same, and that
said bonds authorized to be issued by this Act shall be sold by
