shall be by the said Mayor and City Council invested in some
safe securities as a sinking fund, which shall not at any time
be diverted from the purposes of this Act.

SEC. 4. Be it further enacted as aforesaid, That the money
arising from the sale of said bonds shall be paid to the Mayor
and City Council of said town and by it deposited in some
bank or banks to be designated by resolution of said Mayor
and City Council and only be drawn therefrom by checks signed
by the Mayor and countersigned by the Treasurer; and said
funds shall be used for the purpose of paying the balance on
the purchase price of the fire engine owned by said town and
for the payment of the mortgage lien now on the property used
as a City Hall and as the headquarters of the Volunteer Fire
Department of said town, and the balance for the payment of
the miscellaneous corporate debts and liabilities of said Mayor
and City Council.

SEC. 5. Be it further enacted as aforesaid, That the Mayor
and City Council shall select some depository in which to
deposit the money necessary for the payment of the principal
and interest on said bonds when the same mature and become
due, and shall designate said depository on said bonds and
coupons thereto attached.

SEC. 6. Be it further enacted as aforesaid, That this Act
is hereby declared to be an Emergency Law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public safety, and being
passed upon a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of the
members elected to each of the two Houses of the General As-
sembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 100.

AN ACT to authorize and require the repair and improvement
of Jacksonville schoolhouse, in Lawson's Election District,
No. 8, of Somerset County, and to provide for the con-
struction and operation of a primary school at Cash Corner,
in Lawson's Election District No. 8, of Somerset County;
and to provide for the levying of funds for the payment
therefor.
